Heart-to-Heart: With Paris Wycherley

Heart-to-Heart: With Paris Wycherley

Bonnie Kelly |

Hi there, Bon here – content creator at Sage x Clare. On a sun-drenched Melbourne morning recently, I had the absolute joy of meeting one of my favourite creators: TikTok sensation Paris Wycherley. And yes – she’s every bit as warm, funny and utterly magnetic in person as she is on your screen.

If you’ve spent any time scrolling through TikTok lately, chances are you’ve stumbled across Paris. With her signature style, unfiltered honesty, and fabulous humour, she’s carved out a space all her own in the crowded world of social media – and we can’t get enough.

Paris shares a charming Victorian terrace in Melbourne with her partner Toby and their adorable fur babies. Their home is a dreamy blend of old-world architecture and modern flair, bursting with vintage treasures, bold artwork and a colour palette meant to be with our current collection, Margot.

We sat down for a chat about interiors, fashion and the creative chaos of life online – and of course, took a peek inside her vibrant home. Come take the tour!

Who are you and what do you do?

I am Paris, a content creator and personal stylist here in Melbourne.

Tell us about your career journey… how did you end up where you are now?

I spent ten long years working as a paralegal and hating it so I would spend most of my days looking at clothes online and daydreaming about outfits I wanted to wear. I started posting on social media a bit more regularly, especially after meeting my partner Toby who owns a clothing brand Monphell and helping out with the brand's social media. My following grew and in 2024 I went on a trip to Japan and posted my outfits every day and was then lucky enough to get signed with a social media agency. I have recently started offering online personal styling as well and am loving it.

You’re everyone’s favourite person to watch on TikTok. What is your creative process for creating your content?

I wish I had a process but I am too unorganised so it's usually just on a day where I am not looking or feeling too disheveled that I make content. I have lots of content ideas written down in my notes app but they are yet to be executed. I am pretty relaxed and not too much of a perfectionist when it comes to content.

Creating content daily can be exhausting. How do you come up with new ideas when you’re feeling burnt out… how do you get inspired again?

I love scrolling Pinterest for ideas but if my phone feels overwhelming it's always nice to have a day off scrolling and just touch grass and live in the real world for a bit to feel inspired again.

It’s a brave thing to put yourself on the internet every day, what’s your advice to people who want to do this more but are too scared of what people think?

Your video or photo you upload is only about 15 seconds out of someone else's day before they scroll and see 100 others, no one is thinking that much about it and neither should you. It is way worse to be worried about what other people think then to post a cringe video now and then. Be cringe! Embrace the cringe!

Your styling wisdom please! Current capsule wardrobe suggestions?

If I didn't have animals and wasn't covered in cat hair 24/7, I would create an all black capsule wardrobe almost like a uniform and stick to that when I wasn't sure what to wear - a comfy tracksuit for coming into winter, a black pair of slacks, a good pair of denim, a plain t-shirt, a plain tank and maybe splurge on a new winter coat. Keep it simple.

Where has your deep love of fashion come from? How did you find your unique sense of style?

My mum has always loved clothes and I have two older sisters who I would watch get ready to go out and wish that I was grown up and could dress like that and go out too. I would even put on their heels when they weren't home and walk around haha. I think as I grew older I became more drawn to more tomboy baggy clothes and now that's what I feel the most comfortable in.

For someone feeling really lost + confused with their style and wardrobe… what would you tell them?

That I change my mind on my style and hate my wardrobe almost weekly and it's normal to feel a bit confused. Also, there are no rules! Try new things, if they don't work, who cares, move onto the next thing. Style is just a form of self-expression and there aren't any right or wrong ways of doing it.

Your partner owns Melbourne-based clothing brand Monphell. What’s it been like working closely together? And how do you separate work and play?

Toby is very type A and I am type B personality so there are some clashes over stupid things every now and again but we live together so there isn't much time to stew on it and we get over it pretty quickly. Most of the time it is lots of fun and feels nice to have someone to celebrate the wins with. There isn't too much separation with work and play at the moment but luckily we love what we do.

What does the average working day look like for Paris Wycherley?

Every day can be different which is what makes it so fun but lately my working day consists of walking the dogs and grabbing a coffee with Toby before anything else. I then usually spend all day texting back and forth with my agent about upcoming jobs or I might have a brand deal to shoot. I usually pop into the studio and make some content for Monphell and pack some orders. If I have an event that night it is usually a late night because I can never say no to a wine.

What’s been a pinnacle pinch-me-moment in your career?

Honestly every time a brand wants to work with me or send me a beautiful outfit it feels like a pinch-me-moment as it truly is my dream job to be able to do this every day. I have been on a few brand trips which have been so fun and surreal and even with my personal styling, it feels so special that people want to be styled by me and value my opinion.

If you’re having a bad mental health day… what helps to pull you out of it? What are the things that bring you the most joy?

A good cuddle with my dogs or cats, a phone call with my mum, a sweet treat, a real housewives episode and an early night usually does the trick.

Describe your perfect day out in Melbourne to us (if money were no limit)…

A walk with my dogs and Toby through Princes Park, coffee and breakfast at Florian, a lunchtime wine (or 5) at Cam's Kiosk sitting outside in the sun in a good outfit with my girlfriends, and then continue the evening with some more drinks and a pub meal at Royal Oak making sure I'm in bed by midnight (nothing good happens after 12am).

With a whole lotta love xx
