Ordering, shipping + returns

Returns + Exchanges

Change of mind

It’s ok to change your mind. These things happen. We offer refunds (excluding any shipping costs) and exchanges on most items if you decide your latest purchase is just not for you. Below is a list of what we look for in approving a Change of Mind return.

DOMESTIC (AUSTRALIA) ONLY:

  1. Returns are accepted within 15 days of the shipping date from our warehouse. Once you submit your return online, please ensure you post your parcel within 14 days or your return request will expire. 
  2. We offer FREE returns for Exchange or Store Credit on most items. If returning large items like rugs, floor cushions and wall hangings, return shipping charges may apply. Customers wanting to return a rug, floor cushion or wall hanging should email us at gday@sageandclare.com for a return shipping quote. 
  3. For Refunds, the cost of Return Shipping for most items is $9. To save you the hassle of buying stamps at the Post Office, we simply deducted this charge from the Refund amount. For larger items like rugs, floor cushions and wall hangings, additional return shipping charges may apply. Please contact us at gday@sageandclare.com for a return shipping quote. 
  4. As always for Change of Mind returns, items must be unwashed, unused and in original packaging with tags intact
  5. Please allow 3-5 business days for your return to be processed once it arrives back to our warehouse
  6. Refunds will be processed within 3-5 days back to the original method of purchase (credit card, PayPal, etc) but may take a few extra days to be received into your account. Don't forget! Your refund will be less $9 to cover the cost of Return Shipping. 
  7. Please note, if your Return arrives in a condition that does not meet our Returns Policy, we will be required to reject your Return. Our Customer Care Team will be in touch if this is the case.

INTERNATIONAL:

  1. Returns are accepted within 30 days of the shipping date from our warehouse. Once you submit your return online, please ensure you post your parcel within 14 days or your return request will expire. 
  2. Please choose carefully as you will need to cover the cost of Return Shipping regardless of whether you are seeking a Refund or Store Credit. All Returns should be addressed to our HQ on Wurundjeri land at

Sage and Clare Returns, 5A/841 Mountain Highway,Bayswater, 3153,VIC, Australia.

  1. Please allow 3-5 business days for your Return to be processed once it arrives back to our warehouse.
  2. Refunds will be processed within 3-5 days back to the original method of purchase (credit card, Paypal, etc) but may take a few extra days to be received into your account.

Faulty Items

PRODUCT FAULTS

We take care to ensure that all items leave our warehouse in great condition, but if you have unfortunately received a faulty or defective item, here's everything you need to know:

  1. You can initiate your Return at here and follow the prompt to return your faulty item. Please note, you may be required to upload images of the fault for us to review prior to approving your return.
  2. Where we deem the item to be faulty or defective, we will offer either a repair, exchange or refund.
  3. Where a product is deemed faulty, we will cover the cost of Return Shipping to our warehouse.
  4. When assessing faulty items, we will always act in accordance with Australian Consumer Law.
  5. Please allow 3-5 days for your faulty item to be processed once it arrives back to our warehouse
  6. Refunds will be processed within 3-5 days back to the original method of purchase (credit card, Paypal, etc) but may take a few extra days to be received into your account.

PERFECTLY IMPERFECT HANDMADE FEATURES

As you may know, we heart handmade here at Sage x Clare. Many of the items we sell feature handmade elements crafted by our wonderful artisans and as such, variations and small inconsistencies do exist. This is a natural result of handmade techniques and not considered a product fault. We do our best to call out the handmade nature of our products as much as possible across all our marketing material and product descriptions to help with your shopping experience.

COLOUR VARIANCES

We take great care to ensure that digital representation of colours match the actual colour of our products however we recognise that screen resolution and settings can impact what you see before you buy. We therefore treat returns relating to colour variance in accordance with our ‘Change of Mind’ policy. You can review our 'Change of Mind' policy here.

The below items are NOT eligible for a return, exchange or refunds:

  1. Gift cards
  2. Any marked down item purchased from the 'Sale' page or as part of any other sale event including flash sales like Black Friday or Boxing Day and warehouse sales
  3. Any item purchased from a Sage and Clare independent stockist, please contact the store directly if you wish to return.
  4. Any item that has been used, slept in, worn or not in original condition with tags intact
  5. Any items damaged due to unreasonable wear and tear

We accept Visa, Mastercard, PayPal and Afterpay.

Do you offer lay-by or similar?

Yes, we now offer Afterpay, which allows you to enjoy our products now and pay for your order over 4 interest free fortnightly payments. Simply choose Afterpay as your payment method at the checkout, complete your checkout in seconds with instant approval and pay it off over an 8 week period. Conditions apply.

What type of security does your site have for internet transactions?

All information regarding your transaction and identity is kept confidential through Paypal, which uses SSL technology to keep your information safe.
 Paypal adheres to the highest security standards, as set by international PCI (payment card industry) compliance.

How are your items priced?

All prices are listed in Australian Dollars and include 10% Goods and Services Tax. Sage and Clare reserves the right to change prices at any time. In the event of a pricing error on the website, our customer service team will contact you to notify of the discrepancy and provide correct pricing.

Any pricing displayed on Google's organic listings are automatically generated by Google and can sometimes include incorrect and outdated information. This information can arise from Google pulling from a third party website or could reference an old sale that has since been removed from the Sage x Clare website. As we have no control over the presentation of this information, we cannot honour the incorrect price displayed. Please refer to www.sageandclare.com for all up to date pricing.

When will my order dispatch?

We can't wait to get your gorgeous goodies on the way to you! Our team usually dispatches orders within 2-5 business days of order placement for standard delivery & 2-3 business days for Express delivery. However around new collection launches, delays can be expected.

Australia Standard Shipping with Aus Post for orders under $100 AUD - 2-5 Days - $10 AUD

Australia Standard Shipping with Aus Post for orders $100 AUD and over - 2-5 Days - FREE

Australia Express Shipping with Aus Post - 2-3 Days - $15 AUD

New Zealand DHL Shipping* for orders under $200 NZD - 1-2 Days* $25 AUD

New Zealand DHL Shipping* on orders $200 NZD and over - 1-2 Days* - FREE

North America DHL Shipping* for all orders - 2-4 Days* - $39 AUD

United Kingdom + Europe DHL Shipping* for all orders - 3-5 Days* - $49 AUD

Rest of World DHL Shipping* for all orders- 3-7 Days* - $59 AUD

* DHL Shipping is our usual shipping provider for International however during sale periods Sage x Clare may ship international orders through Australia Post which may result in extended shipping timelines. 

Large or Heavy items

Please note additional shipping charges may apply for large or heavy items shipped to some areas of Australia; particularly QLD, WA & NT and orders shipped outside Australia. Our Customer Care Team will be in touch if extra shipping charges apply to your order.

International shipping conditions

They say good things come in small packages and when it comes to shipping products outside Australia, that is certainly true. Here’s everything you need to know if you’re shopping with us from outside Australia:

  1. We happily ship small items internationally, for example apparel, cushions, throws, bath mats, bedlinen, towels and small decorative items. We can arrange a quote to ship larger items such as (not all inclusive list) rugs, floor cushions or bedcovers on a case by case basis. Items with additional shipping charges are noted in the product descriptions. Contact us at gday@sageandclare.com to request a quote. Otherwise, we'll be in touch if your order attracts additional shipping charges.
  2. Import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer's responsibility. Please check with your country's customs office to determine what these additional costs will be

Shipping Provider

Our main priority is getting your orders to you as quickly as possible. Orders that are shipped within Australia will be shipped with Australia Post or StarTrack. Tracking details will be sent to you via email once the order has left our warehouse.

International orders (including New Zealand) are shipped with DHL or Australia Post.

Stock Availability

Everything listed on our website (with the exception of Coming Soon product) is available for sale right now! Our warehouse is packed to the rafters with beautiful stock and we can’t wait to get it in your hot little hands. Very occasionally, we may find an item ordered is no longer available. In these rare cases, our customer service team will be in touch to organise a different item or full refund.

Dispatch Times + Tracking

Orders are generally dispatched within 1-2 days. During busy periods like sale events, collection launches or holiday closures, these dispatch times can increase to up to 7 days. If the delay will be longer than this, we endeavour to communicate this on our website.  

Tracking and Delivery

We will provide you with a tracking number once your order has been dispatched from our warehouse. We recommend shipping to a location where someone will be present to sign for your order, such as a work address. If this is not possible and you do not want your parcel taken to a Post Office for collection, please leave instructions during checkout giving authority to leave without a signature. Understandably, parcels left without a signature are left at the buyer’s risk. We would encourage you to use this option only if there is a secure place to stash your goodies.

Delivery to a PO Box

Got a PO Box? That’s perfect! We deliver most items to a PO Box. Unfortunately, larger items like rugs and floor cushions cannot be shipped to PO Boxes. If you’re not sure if your package will be considered a “larger item”, just send us an email at gday@sageandclare.com and we’ll help you out.

Delays or Damage during shipping

If there is a delay with your delivery, the Carrier will have the most up to date information on your delivery so we recommend you first contact the Carrier with your tracking number directly. The tracking details provided include information on how to contact the shipping carrier. If you need further assistance, please contact our customer service team at gday@sageandclare.com who can help.

Unfortunately, accidents do happen. All our products are carefully packaged to prevent breakage in transit but if your order is damaged during shipping, please let us know. Because a picture paints a thousand words, we require photographs of the inside and outside of the box so the damage can be assessed. Please also ensure that you keep all contents and packaging while our team is assessing your case. Please contact our customer service team at gday@sageandclare.com within 3 days of receiving your package for instructions.  


While Sage x Clare is made up of a pretty magical bunch of humans, try as we do, our magic doesn’t extend too far past the walls of our warehouse. While our customer service team will certainly help navigate delays in shipping, damages in transit, packages not received, international customs issues  and orders affected by issues relating to the provision of incorrect address details, we understandably can’t take responsibility for things that are beyond our control.
