Piling into a charming, dusty old Merc from the seventies we reach the golden city walls. Transferring on foot through winding alleys past donkeys, veiled women and snake charmers we arrive into the grand square - Marrakech’s beating heart.
Terracotta and blush contrast with the bright blue of the sky as the call to prayer resounds. A small diversion catches our eyes so we set off… getting lost in the souks; every wall draped in vintage boucherouite, sparkling handira and soft leather babouche.
As the sun reaches high into the sky, we retreat into the cool of our riad, lounging on Berber cushions and sipping on sweet mint tea. The inner courtyard walls punctuated by a kaleidoscope of colours arranged in traditional geometric zellige design; both chaotic and captivating. Winding our way up the stone stairs we find the dusky sky descending on the rooftops of the bustling city. Black birds circle overhead and the silhouettes of the snow capped Atlas Mountains tower in the distance as we watch the glowing sun fade.
Morocco, the North African country that has inspired so many design legends before us, is the bedrock of this range.
Presenting the Atlas Collection… an ode to the iconic travel mecca of the sixties and seventies - Marrakech.
