Wool Rugs:
Many of our rugs are made from 100% wool. Some shedding is to be expected, but there are a few tips to keep your rug looking beautiful for longer!
- To reduce shedding we suggest vacuuming it no more than once a week. Gentle suction and going in the direction of the pile and not against it are best to keep the pile looking gorgeous!
- We also suggest placing the rug in a low traffic area, as lots of movement and activity can only increase the amount of shedding that can occur
- As our rugs do not have a non-slip backing, if you’re planning to place your gorgeous rug on a smooth surface such as polished floorboards or tiles, we recommend purchasing a non-slip underlay! This not only ensures your rug stays in place, but it adds a beautiful extra softness to walk on!
- Spot clean, or take to your preferred professional rug cleaner
Jute Rugs:
- Do not use a brush head or motorised power brush head on the vacuum cleaner. Use a flat head to vacuum the rug.
- Regularly rotate your rug to avoid fading and long term wear.
- Try to avoid direct sunlight, this can cause fading.
- Light Vacuuming weekly is recommended to prevent any build up settling into the fibres.
- Do not use rotating brushes and go in the direction of the pile to avoid damage.
- Rugs will release fibres over the initial year of use, this is a normal characteristic and can be easily removed with a shake & a vacuum
- Furniture can pull and mis-shape rugs, sharp corners can damage the pile.
- Always lift and never drag furniture across your rug.
- Never pull a loose fibre, always trim with sharp scissors.
- Attend to stains immediately.
- Blot area with a clean undyed cloth to remove excess liquid.
- Different materials and products require different cleaning methods - please refer to care label
- Shake rug to remove debris.

Australian (domestic) shipping:
- We offer free standard shipping for orders over $150 AUD.
- $10 standard flat rate shipping for orders under $150 AUD.
- $15 express shipping.
International shipping:
- New Zealand: we offer free shipping for orders $250 NZD and over and flat fee shipping of $25 AUD for orders under $250 NZD.
- United States: we offer free shipping for orders $200 USD and over and flat fee shipping of $29 USD for orders under $200 USD.
- Europe + United Kingdom: shipping is $49 AUD for all orders.
- Rest of world: shipping is $59 AUD for all orders.
Dispatch times for standard delivery are usually 2-5 business days from order placement and 1-2 business days for express delivery.
US customers, please note all tariffs, duties and taxes are included in the price paid at checkout.
For all other customers outside Australia, import duties, taxes and charges are not included in the item price or shipping charges. These charges are the buyer's responsibility.
Returns:
- Full priced items are eligible for Australian (domestic) returns within 15 days of the shipping date from our warehouse. For international (excl European Union) orders, returns are accepted within 30 days of the shipping date from our warehouse. For European Union orders, returns are accepted within 14 days of the delivery date. Customers from the European Union, also have the right to "withdraw" from online orders within 14 days of the delivery date. EU customers can exercise their right of withdrawal here.
- Once you submit your return, please ensure you post within 14 days or your return request will expire.
- For Australian (domestic) returns, full priced items are eligible for gift card or refund (refunds are processed minus shipping cost).
- For international returns, full priced items are eligible for gift card or refund. Exchange is not available for international returns.
- For international returns (including those from the European Union), please choose carefully as you will need to cover the cost of return shipping regardless of whether you are seeking a refund or store credit.

My first SxC rug (Benni) was excellent minus the large amount of fluff that comes off it.
This second attempt at a SxC rug purchase was the opposite, sadly. More so as i was so looking forward to finishing off my study and this rug looked great in the recent campaign. It arrived relatively promptly but I am disappointed that the person who packaged and sent it to me, failed to notice the strong odour coming from the rug which was obvious and abnormal. I had purchased other items that were added to this rug delivery and all ended up being impacted by the odour resulting in all needing to be returned. As the item sat in my home (unrolled) i could smell the odour upon walking by it.
I attempted to replace but had to wait until SxC received my faulty purchase back before they let me know that they were not confident to exchange. I had prompted checking on the possibility of an exchange to avoid delays which fell flat. Service is always lovely but the actual handling of this purchase was not well done. I have received my refund on the rug but this took longer to deal with than it should have.
On a seperate note: I have a lot of purchase/loyalty points. The brand have made the loyalty points program more complicated and fiddly than it needs to be. I’d suggest just placing the points automatically on customers account rather than making them muck around with converting points and having to read TandCs for too many rules. Life is hectic these days and wasting time on this sort of…
