Well made but scratchy

Love the pattern and the sheets are well made, but the linen is incredibly uncomfortable and scratchy. To the point that hubby won’t sleep on them :( really expected a softer fabric for the price. Wouldn’t buy again - can buy pretty uncomfortable sheets from target or Kmart that are much cheaper. Any tips on how to soften them (without fabric softener which the washing instructions say not to use!) would be greatly appreciated

Due to the printing technique used to create our beautiful Antea, it may take a little longer to soften than our yarn-dyed however, we can assure you that it will soften with time and use. To make our linen as soft as possible, we pre-wash it to give it its beautiful and luxurious hand feel however, we try not to overdo it as your linen will only get better over time.

As you continue to wash and use your linen, the fibres will loosen and your beautiful sheet will continue to soften.
