And to finish this little beauty off, the hand printed charcoal ticking stripe has also been used as a cord piping around the border of the pillowcase. It’s all in the details!
Hand made and hand printed in the Pink City of Jaipur, the art of block printing has been used to create the stamped stripes. Block Printing is an ancient technique that has been practiced for centuries and begins with each design being carved and chipped from soft teak wood. Dyes are mixed to create the perfect hues, all by the careful skill of colour Masters. The blocks are then dipped into the dyes and patiently stamped across the fabric. A high level of skill is required, especially when printing stripes, so that each block lines up perfectly. Definitely a job for the highly patient and highly skilled!
