JOB SUMMARY

The role of the Marketing Manager is primarily to develop and administer Sage x Clare’s marketing strategy across the retail and wholesale business with a focus on digital marketing. They will manage the marketing team & partner with internal creative team, along with manage external agency relationships (as needed) to deliver the complete marketing mix to drive business objectives.  Responsible for managing our company image in a cohesive way to achieve marketing goals as well as ensuring high levels of web traffic and customer engagement. Experience with data analytics and PR highly desired, but not required. 

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Develop, execute and maintain the annual marketing strategy including content, advertising, communications and social media to grow the brand; this includes calendar, budget, campaign & activity objective and tactics to grow the business
  • Prepare & manage monthly, quarterly and annual marketing budget that promote higher profitability and market competitiveness
  • Conduct competitive research and analyse market trends to identify new opportunities and challenges
  • Setting, monitoring and reporting on marketing team goals
  • Assess performance of advertising campaigns and events
  • Partner closely with, and brief Creative team 

Branding:

  • Gather feedback from retail & wholesale sales and analyse customer behaviour to define brand positioning, crafting & execute our differentiation strategy
  • Direct & monitor brand message and tone guidelines to ensure it is consistent across all communication channels
  • Ensure brand message is strong, clear & consistent across all communication channels and marketing efforts
  • Other duties as assigned by Management

Marketing:

  • Strategy & Planning
    • Identify opportunities to reach new market segments and expand market share
    • Drive and implement content management strategies across all retail & wholesale communication channels, championing our brand voice and ensuring brand is represented appropriately
    • Ability to develop, translate and leverage strategic messages for marketing communications tactics
  • Channels
    • Maintain a keen understanding of industry trends affecting clients and make appropriate recommendations regarding communication strategy surrounding them 
    • Develop & manage retail and wholesale content calendar, delegate tasks to team and ensure deadlines are met across all channels including:
      • Social media (includes posts, IGTV, Reels, etc)
      • Website copy & content
      • EDMs
      • Journal
      • Facebook Ads
      • Any other required business content
    • Oversee the planning, implementing, analysing and managing the social media strategy developed by the marketing team, including:
      • Approve social media strategy & plan, ensuring it is executed timely and in line with business calendar and brand
      • Review & approve social media content calendar (feed, stories, reels, IGTV, etc)
      • Review & approve feed imagery & copy to ensure they are aligned with the brand &and business calendar
      • Oversee social media accounts design (e.g. Facebook timeline cover, profile pictures, journal layout, etc.)
      • Required to be up-to-date with the latest digital technologies and social media trends, design tools and applications
      • Need to display in-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms (instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, etc) & how to create authentic engagement in each platform
  • Communication
    • Edit, proofread and improve all visual and copy content from team members across all channels
    • Work closely with creative team to ensure all content and communication is innovative, engaging and brand consistent
    • Requires strong editing and conceptual skills
  • Analytics
    • Monitor, analyse & optimise content and web traffic, considering SEO and Google Analytics
    • Provide insights via analytics reporting measuring performance of content and channels, making recommendations to drive business to meet objectives
    • Receive customer feedback & generate ideas to increase customer engagement
  • Other duties as assigned by Management

Public Relations:

  • Develop media relations strategy seeking high-level placements in print, broadcast and online media 
  • Manage media inquiries and interview requests
  • Direct content creation for press releases, byline articles and keynote presentations
  • Evaluate opportunities for partnerships, sponsorships and advertising on an on-going basis
  • Plan & execute influencer strategy aligning with key brand campaigns and collection launches to engage followers and highlight our products & brand
  • Manage key agency partnerships
  • Suggest and implement new features to develop brand awareness, such as promotions and competitions
  • Other duties as assigned by Management

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • BA in Marketing, Advertising or related discipline 
  • 4-6 years relevant work experience, preferably in a related industry with demonstrated experience in digital marketing
  • Team management experience highly desired
  • Platform Experience Required: Instagram/Facebook
  • Platform Experience highly preferred:
    • Mac user
    • Shopify
    • Klaviyo
    • Google Analytics
  • Experience developing & implementing strategic marketing plans and analysing results
  • Hands on experience with SEO and web traffic metrics highly desired

GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES FOR ALL SAGE X CLARE TEAM MEMBERS: 

  • Participate in bi-annual stock takes on all products in the warehouse
  • Assist with warehouse sales, including working weekends where required, bump in and bump out 
  • Assist team with maintaining general tidiness of warehouse and office areas 
  • Assist with unloading, counting and stocking items in warehouse
  • During high volume times, as directed by management (online sales, collection release, pre-order arrivals, etc), assist with packing orders in the warehouse.
    • Pick items according to the Order form
    • Inspect items to ensure they’re not damaged or faulty and adjust inventory accordingly
    • Pack item according to specified packing guidelines
    • Ship and fulfil customer orders in Inventory system, inputting appropriate tracking numbers and links 
  • Assist with seasonal events including trade show bump in and bump out, as needed
  • Work trade shows where required including weekends and interstate, as needed
  • Engage on Sage x Clare social media posts with comments and likes 
  • Assist with photoshoot production, coordination and style assist duties where required
